The Good Luck Gallery, Los Angeles’ newly established bastion of visionary art, will be exhibiting at this year’s PULSE Miami Beach art fair and showcasing the work of two remarkable artists, both of whom have had successful solo shows at the gallery this year.
The mesmerizing scratchboard drawings of Cathy Ward pull the viewer into a highly personal and immersive realm of abstraction that exudes both spirituality and sensuality. Beginning as depictions of hair, these intricately swirling masses assume cosmic dimensions, quite unlike anything else in the world of art… or any other world. She has exhibited widely in Europe.
Jacques Flechemuller’s wickedly inventive scenes of idyllic courtship and domestic bliss with a twist are painted directly on the pages of a Parisian magazine from the 1950s. These magazines were delivered to his home when he was a boy and provided his first conception of art. Flechemuller is now an internationally exhibited painter with a rich and varied body of work.
Now in its tenth year, the PULSE Contemporary Art Fair is a prominent event on the annual art calendar and is recognized as “the premiere satellite fair for the discovery and acquisition of cutting-edge contemporary art.” The Good Luck Gallery is very much looking forward to being a part of it.
